Hi Martin,
I feel the same way as you do. After 2-weeks in Nanchang I realized I must be extra careful with my pronounciation. That is really great for me, because I can learn more this way. I can go to the street and try to play Chinese chess (象棋) which is both fun and a good way to practice speaking. I like Nanchang!

When you are in Nanchang, what is your favourite place to go for fun?

Sorry, its me again. it seems my response is workable. haha
Nanchang is a underdeveloped city but growing very fast recent years like Shanghai 17 years ago. as you can see, we do speak with stong accent which north chinese wouldn't understand, but dont worry! more and more people in Nanchang start to speak standard mandarin. besides, everybody can speak Mandarin if you speak mandarin to them. The life in Nanchang might be not so exciting compare to the city like Beijing, Tianjin and there is not many foreign. i think its good for you to communicate more with chinese people and learn your chinese better. ha ha

Hi, Justin. Why I can't see you in your pictures taken in Nanchang?
In Nanchang, you can receive the best education of communism.
That's aweful! That bored me to tears when I was forced to learn the stupid
theories of communist party.

That's a joke. You don't have to learn it. Jiangxi is famous for its mountains. I am sure you will enjoy it in near future.
