Marching drills

Behind the Foreign Students Dormitory is a 400-metre track/soccer pitch that occasionally receives the pomp and pageantry of very nationalistic-sounding music, a lot of flag waving, and various announcements echoing through the loudspeakers. Previous times I’ve looked out the back window to see what is happening and it always seemed to be a presentation, the beginning of a seemingly serious sports event, or something of that nature. This afternoon I chose to ignore it for a while until I happened to walk by a window. The formations were intriguing so I grabbed my camera to capture something that is very different from university life in Canada. I’ve decided to call it a marching drill because I saw them repeat the procedure several times, but it’s only a guess.
