Government provides their mandates. Unless you decide to make policy with reckless disregard to the economic impact of its concequences, it seems pragmatic to <em>at least</em> consult with impacted parties. The Sentance: "To ensure compliance with these commitments (WTO, NAFTA, GATS) domestically, the Canadian Government has been putting all policy and regulations under the microscope of experts from DFAIT and Industry Canada." Pretty dry stuff but scary. Having Business run our domestic policies. Ok, the book is “To close for Comfort” by Maude Barlow, for my Political science course.
