Where’s my wallet??!!

Getting out of a cab, my wallet must have slipped, because (literally) a second later I looked for it and my pocket was empty and my cab was gone. Thankfully I lost very little, but trying to call TD CanadaTrust to cancel an ATM card isn’t easy from an international location. Their Customer Service page lists toll-free numbers and the international numbers require an “International Access Code” which — as far as I can tell — never made it to the website. Quite a bummer. Just another reminder that good website design is more than just clever code and nice graphics… and maybe that I should be more careful with my things.

Tomorrow morning is Rememberance Day in North America, and while I’ll be a world away, my thoughts will be with those Canadian service men and women who have risked, and even now risk themselves for what we hope will bring greater peace.

Poppy

In Flanders Fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the dead.
Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die,
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Peace be with you!
