Thick as air
The air is thick today. Apparently it’s thick throughout the winter months. When you blow your nose, the tissue is black. A recent China Daily article said the Air Pollution Index (API) for Beijing is 139. In Vancouver, the rating scale doesn’t even go past 100. There’s no way to appreciate clean air quite like spending some time in a region that depends on coal burning to generate electricitity.
I managed to get the last of my Xi’an photos online. The last photo from the trip that I’d like to draw special attention to is a panorama I stitched together. If you view the image at the Flickr.com page, use the link “See different sizes” to see a larger version with all the detail.
