Hard work in the home stretch

School is pretty insane into the home stretch. My poor start in math took some extra attention to fix, but another test at 89% goes to show that hard work pays off. On the downside, extra math work meant less time for other subjects, and I’m playing a bit of catch up, but I must say it’s better than my high school days of being behind due to apathetic. Still, my time management skills are improving, and I’m looking forward to having a better handle on things next semester.

My economics has been neglected a bit, simply because I find the subject seems natural to me. Of course, that’s a poor excuse for not reviewing my notes enough, and my second midterm scored 79% — disapointing after the first 92%, but not terrible. I don’t plan to squander the final exam. Our teacher, recognizing that most students don’t ‘get it’ until the end of semester, will throw away our midterm marks if the final exam is a higher average. My personal goal is to meet or beat my personal best of 92%.

Other classes are harder to guage, and will depend on final projects - some of which are still ongoing. I’m betting that math and economics will be my best subjects, which is a good sign considering my chosen path. Whether that prediction will be true or not is immaterial, I can already see improvements in my writing and political understanding, and feel challenged to keep working for more.
