Kitty Seizure
Tina was picking me up after class today, and I dropped by her mom’s office on my way to our meeting spot. Karin tells me that Tina had called a few minutes ago after our oldest cat, Lico, had suffered a seizure. I borrowed her car and drove to the vet clinic where Tina was waiting.
Lico is okay right now, but it has us wondering if this has happened before without our knowledge. One of Lico’s siblings, kept by a friend, also suffers from seizures and is currently taking medication, so it’s very likely to be a hereditary condition; our vet is running some blood tests just to rule out other factors.
Now that she’s back, she just seems a bit tired and sluggish. I imagine the seizure took a lot out of her and she’ll be full energy again later. Since we’ve been back from the vet clinic, our other cat, Tsuki, has been hissing at poor Lico—what a nice welcome back, after that ordeal! My best guess is that Lico smells of disinfectant from the vet office after giving a blood sample. Now that I think of it, that blood sample would also take some energy away.
