(Mechanical) Bull Riding
A couple international students invited me to an ‘invite-only’ Wild West Party this evening. Apparently, each international student receives an invitation to bring one other person, so a friend from Indonesia brought me in. It was a non-alcoholic event (didn’t think that existed at universities) and was a great chance to meet some interesting people. At one point where an announcer gave a big welcome to each country that represented at TRU—and what a list it was! It’s hard to believe all those people left their homelands and paid out a lot of money to study in… Kamloops. Don’t get me wrong here, Kamloops is really a beautiful place, but how do foreigners even learn about a place that doesn’t always show up on maps? I’m still impressed by the list; it’s pretty impressive.
Oh, and as for the title of this post: yes there was a mechanical bull. I gave it my best shot, but it still managed to kick me off. So much for my Stampede asperations…
